Causal mechanisms, impact and heterogeneity of impact

This line of research arises from the need to develop more comprehensive impact evaluation models in order to understand how impact heterogeneity varies with observable ecological, social, political and economic conditions, and help discover the specific mechanism by which policy actions cause improvements in well-being.

Lack of clear theories regarding causal relationships and benchmarks makes it difficult to infer on whether interventions cause any changes or not.
